What is Zoom Rooms?

In the past, meetings rooms would be equipped with expensive, complex hardware and software, which usually only supported room-to-room conferencing. These days, employees need more flexibility. They want to be able to walk into a room and connect to a meeting instantly, and allow other participants to join on desktop or mobile easily. That’s where Zoom Rooms come in.

What is Zoom Rooms?

Zoom Rooms is a software-based room system that provides an integrated experience for audio/video conferencing, wireless sharing and remote collaboration. Zoom Rooms can be used for room-only attendees, or remote attendees joining from another room, from their desktop, or from their mobile device.

What Do I Need for Zoom Rooms?

At a minimum, a room requires a Windows PC or a Mac running the Zoom Rooms software, and a controller to run the Zoom Rooms app, this can be an iPad, or an Android or Windows tablet. Additional equipment for Zoom Rooms includes TV displays, cameras, speakers, microphones and more. These can be added into the room for a richer meeting experience, and can all be controlled easily through the app.

What Are the Benefits of Zoom Rooms?

Zoom makes it incredibly easy to communicate and collaborate with people remotely. You can use the Zoom Rooms app to share files and collaborate seamlessly with remote attendees over the Internet without stopping the meeting. It’s also unlikely that you’ll have to supply remote workers with new hardware, as most of the equipment you have will probably be compatible with Zoom software.
